Urging our nation's leaders to end hunger

Allentown-Eastern PA Bread Offering of Letters Workshop
First Presbyterian Church, Allentown

Dear Bread Friends in the Lehigh Valley and Eastern PA,

Please join us for a Bread for the World Advocacy Workshop in Allentown on Saturday, April 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Details are on this page. Sign up today!

This year, Bread for the World's Offering of Letters campaign will ask President Obama and Congress to set a goal and establish a plan to end hunger in the United States and abroad. We will also ask Congress to ensure adequate funding for programs that address hunger and poverty.

During this workshop we will use multimedia and interactive exercises to develop plans to convince our leaders that everyone deserves adequate and nutritious food. The workshop in Allentown will give you tools for organizing a group to write effective letters. You’ll go home prepared to share the Offering of Letters in your church, campus, or community, and with more connections to other hunger advocates in your area. You'll also have more insights on state and local hunger issues thanks to breakout sessions and discussions during the workshop.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the Lehigh County Conference of Churches' Justice and Advocacy Commmittee and by Second Harvest.

Please register using the RSVP button on this page. For questions, contact Larry Hollar at lhollar@bread.org or 937-361-6622. For more information on Bread's 2013 advocacy campaign, see www.bread.org/OL.
