Urging our nation's leaders to end hunger

Erie, PA Offering of Letters Workshop
First United Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall

Dear Friends in Northwest Pennsylvania,

Please join us for a Bread for the World Advocacy Workshop in Erie on Saturday, March 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Details are on this page. Sign up today!

This year, Bread for the World's Offering of Letters campaign will ask President Obama and Congress to set a goal and establish a plan to end hunger in the United States and abroad. We will also ask Congress to ensure adequate funding for programs that address hunger and poverty.

During this free workshop we will use multimedia and interactive exercises to develop plans to convince our leaders that everyone deserves adequate and nutritious food. The workshop in Erie will give you tools for organizing a group to write effective letters. You’ll go home prepared to share the Offering of Letters in your church, campus, or community!

The first half-hour will be a general introduction to Bread; the advocacy training workshop starts at 10:00 a.m.

Parking is available at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, one block west on W. 7th Street, or in nearby parking garages. First UMC's lot is expected to be full, due to another event; drop-off at 7th Street entrance to First UMC.
