Urging our nation's leaders to end hunger

Pittsburgh, PA Offering of Letters Workshop
The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Monroeville

Please join us for a Bread for the World Advocacy Workshop in Monroeville, PA on Sunday, March 3, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Details are on this page. Sign up today!

This year Bread for the World's Offering of Letters campaign will ask President Obama and Congress to set a goal and establish a plan to end hunger in the United States and abroad. We will also ask Congress to ensure adequate funding for programs that address hunger and poverty.

Many of those programs are at risk in the ongoing budget debates. Our voices matter and we must challenge our elected leaders to make ending hunger a national priority and protect hungry people from bearing the burden of deficit reduction.

Come learn more about these vital programs!

During this free workshop we will use multimedia and interactive exercises to develop plans to convince our leaders that everyone deserves adequate and nutritious food. This year, a major motion picture, A Place at the Table, will highlight the growing need to address hunger. The workshop in the Pittsburgh area will give you tools for organizing a group to write effective letters. You’ll go home prepared to share the Offering of Letters in your church, campus, or community! The workshop will also give you insights on state-level hunger issues and responses.
