Urging our nation's leaders to end hunger

Elmira, NY Offering of Letters Workshop
Catholic Charities of Chemung/Schuyler Counties

Dear Friends in Southern New York State,

Please join us for a Bread for the World Advocacy Workshop in Elmira on Tuesday evening, March 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Details are on this page. Sign up today!

This year, Bread for the World's Offering of Letters campaign will ask President Obama and Congress to set a goal and establish a plan to end hunger in the United States and abroad. We will also ask Congress to ensure adequate funding for programs that address hunger and poverty.

During this workshop we will use multimedia and interactive exercises to develop plans to convince our leaders that everyone deserves adequate and nutritious food. The workshop in Elmira will give you tools for organizing a group to write effective letters. You’ll go home prepared to share the Offering of Letters in your church, campus, or community!

A light supper will be provided starting at 6:00 p.m.; the workshop begins no later than 7:00 p.m. This will be a great chance to meet Larry Hollar, your new Bread regional organizer.

Directions to Catholic Charities are at http://www.cs-cc.org/index.php/location-a-directions. Parking is behind the building; access is from the corner of Clemens Pkwy and Second Street.

Please click the button on this page to RSVP and to indicate if you plan to come for the supper. Questions? Contact Larry Hollar at lhollar@bread.org or 937-361-6622.
