Urging our nation's leaders to end hunger

Albany, NY Offering of Letters Workshop
First Lutheran Church, Albany

Dear Friends in the Albany area,

Please join us for a Bread for the World Advocacy Workshop in Albany on Wednesday evening, March 13, with optional dinner at 6:00 p.m. and workshop starting at 7:00 p.m. Details are on this page. Sign up today!

This year, Bread for the World's Offering of Letters campaign will ask President Obama and Congress to set a goal and establish a plan to end hunger in the United States and abroad. We will also ask Congress to ensure adequate funding for programs that address hunger and poverty.

During this workshop we will use multimedia and interactive exercises to develop plans to convince our leaders that everyone deserves adequate and nutritious food. The workshop in Albany will give you tools for organizing a group to write effective letters. You’ll go home prepared to share the Offering of Letters in your church, campus, or community! You'll also learn about hunger in New York State and other advocacy techniques.

The suggested donation for the workshop is just $5.00 per person, payable at the event.

An optional soup dinner will be provided starting at 6:00 p.m.; the workshop begins at 7:00 p.m. This will be a great chance to meet Larry Hollar, your new Bread regional organizer, and connect with the many cosponsoring organizations (see details at http://www.focuschurches.net/index.php).
