Manhattan Advocacy Workshop
Please join us for a Bread for the World advocacy workshop in Manhattan on Saturday, April 6, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Details below. Sign up today!
This year, Bread for the World's Offering of Letters campaign will ask President Obama and Congress to set a goal and establish a plan to end hunger in the United States and abroad. We will also ask Congress to ensure adequate funding for programs that address hunger and poverty.
Many of those programs are at risk in the ongoing budget debates. Our voices matter and we must challenge our elected leaders to make ending hunger a national priority and protect hungry people from bearing the burden of deficit reduction.
Come learn more about these vital programs and why it is important that we express our outrage over the sequester and the negative impact it will have on hungry and poor people.
During this free workshop we will use multimedia and interactive exercises to develop plans to convince our leaders that everyone deserves adequate and nutritious food. This year, a major motion picture, A Place at the Table, will highlight the growing need to address hunger. The workshop in Manhattan will give you the tools you need to organize a group to write effective letters. You'll go home prepared to share the Offering of Letters in your church, campus, or community!
