The American Baptist Churches will be hosting a Circle of Protection event on protecting programs for the poor during this political climate of spending cuts and deficit reduction. The event will include the 2012 campaigns of both Bread for the World and the Hunger Action Network of New York. These organizations will discuss state and federal campaigns, which look at protecting programs that are vital for the middle and low-income community during these difficult economic times. This workshop will offer resources and tools for the faith-based community of Rochester to advocate against balancing the budget on the backs of the poor.
